The Azerbaijani president made the remarks on March 18 in the nationwide festivities held in Baku on the occasion of the national holiday of the people of Azerbaijan – Novruz.

The president said that the guarantor of this stability is the Azerbaijani people. “Our policy is supported by the people and this is the main factor of stability. Everything is relative. Today we are very worried about the unpleasant incidents, bloody clashes and wars in our region and throughout the world. Because we don’t live in isolation. If the situation in our region becomes tense, and risks increase, this, of course, will negatively affect us. Therefore, our main duty is to protect the country and the people from current and potential risks, and we are coping with this. Therefore, the stability, prosperity and solidarity in our country are our great wealth and we protect it. Only the unity of the people and the power can protect it”, said Mr.Aliyev.

The head of state said that security is ensured in Azerbaijan and our people live in convenient, safe conditions. “Unfortunately, the situation either in our region and Eurasia is tense. Of course, we should further strengthen the security in our country. Azerbaijan has almost no internal risks and dangers. And we protect ourselves from external risks. We protect ourselves both from physical and possible ideological risks. Over the last 25 years, the Azerbaijani people could see that our policy is the rightest one. We are the masters of our destiny. We define our own policy. We can withstand any external influence and the recent history has shown it. Besides, the recent history also showed that if we acted under dictation of any external powers, we would face great problems”, said the Azerbaijani president.
